300X Slow Closing Check Valve – Pilot-Operated Non-Return Valve with Controlled Closing Speed to Eliminate Water Hammer in Pump Systems

The Coliter® 300X Slow Closing Check Valve is a hydraulically operated, non-return valve designed to prevent backflow while eliminating damaging water hammer through controlled, two-stage closing. Unlike conventional swing or lift check valves that slam shut during pump shutdown—causing pressure surges—the 300X uses an integrated hydraulic control system to achieve optimal closing speed: rapid initial closure followed by a slow, cushioned final seal. This significantly reduces noise, vibration, and stress on pipelines and equipment. The valve assembly includes a main valve, one-way valve, needle valve, ball valve, micro filter, and pressure gauges. During normal flow, water enters the main valve’s control chamber via the micro filter and needle valve; when flow stops or reverses, the ball valve drains the chamber at a controlled rate (adjusted via the needle valve), allowing the main disc to close smoothly. Constructed from ductile iron or cast steel, rated at PN16 (1.6 MPa), and suitable for media temperatures up to 80°C, it handles clean water only. Available in sizes from DN20 to DN800 with flanged end connections per GB/T 17241.6. Widely installed downstream of pumps in high-rise buildings, municipal water networks, and industrial systems, the 300X ensures safe, quiet, and reliable backflow prevention—protecting infrastructure and extending system life.

The 300X slow closing check valve consists of a hydraulic control valve connection system consisting of amain valve, a one way valve, a needle valve, a ball valve, a micro filter, and a pressure gauge. By utilizing hydraulicautomatic operation, the main valve can achieve the optimal opening and closing speed, prevent the occurrence ofwater hammer and water hammer, and achieve the effect of slow closing and noise reduction. When the valvesupplies water from the inlet end, the water enters the main valve control room through a microfiter, neede valve, and one -way valve, and then drains downstream through a ball valve. Because the opening of the needle valve issmaller than the opening of the ball valve, that is, the drainage speed of the main valve control room is greaterthan the inlet speed, the pressure in the control room decreases. The inlet pressure acting on the lower end of themain valve disc opens the main valve to supply water downstream. This valve is widely used in water supplynetwork systems such as high-rise buildings and living areas, as well as urban water supply projects.

Coliter®’s hydraulic control valves are pilot-operated, multi-function automatic valves designed for intelligent water system management in high-rise buildings, fire protection, and municipal networks. The series includes the 600X electric hydraulic control valve (remote on/off via solenoid), 500X pressure relief/pressure reducing valve, 400X flow control valve, 300X slow-closing check valve, 200X pressure sustaining valve, and the LHS743X low-resistance backflow preventer. All models use system pressure as the driving force—requiring no external power—and feature brass or ductile iron bodies, Y-strainer integration, and precise pilot control for stable operation. Rated at PN16 (1.6 MPa) and suitable for temperatures up to 80°C, they ensure safe, energy-efficient, and code-compliant water distribution with automatic response to demand changes.
